Descripción

La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino 2020 comes from vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, a region known for producing Sangiovese with great precision, freshness, and depth. The vineyard, managed with controlled yields (60 ql/ha, well below the legal limit), combines two parcels with distinct profiles: clayey and rocky soils near the winery, close to the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, and looser, well-drained soils in the Sesti area.

The winemaking follows a careful, technical approach: manual harvest, fermentation and maceration in stainless steel with daily punch-downs and délestage, followed by post-fermentation maceration at 29 °C. The wine is then transferred to barrels for weekly batonnage over four months, followed by 20 months aging in French oak and large casks, combining concentration, freshness, and balance.

In the glass, it shows a dense and precise profile, with notes of ripe dark fruit, baked blackberry, and sweet tobacco. The structure is linear, with natural acidity —key in this vintage— providing tension and length. The oak is well integrated, adding a subtle spiciness that supports depth without compromising precision.

A contemporary-style Brunello, defined by purity, moderate concentration, and the elegant character typical of southeast Montalcino.

Para ejercer este derecho, el cliente deberá notificarlo por escrito a través del formulario de contacto, indicando el número de pedido y los productos a devolver. Los gastos de devolución correrán a cargo del cliente, salvo en caso de producto defectuoso o error en el envío.
Excepciones al desistimiento: No se aceptarán devoluciones de botellas abiertas o manipuladas, ni de productos personalizados.
Productos dañados o erróneos: En caso de recibir un producto dañado o diferente al solicitado, el cliente deberá comunicarlo en un plazo máximo de 24 horas desde la recepción, enviando fotografías del embalaje y del producto afectado. Vin Finesse se hará cargo de la reposición o reembolso del importe, incluyendo los gastos de envío asociados.

“Showing a velvety dark and enriched appearance, the La Poderina 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is packed tight with dark fruits, baked blackberry and sweet tobacco. The bouquet delivers a lot of intensity. Indeed, the wine is rather streamlined in terms of texture, with medium length that is pushed along nicely thanks to the natural freshness of the Sangiovese grape. That acidity is key in a wine such as this; it carries a little extra concentration and oak spice. Production is just south of 56,000 bottles.”

La Poderina is a small to medium-sized estate in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area of the appellation. It has vineyards in two spots. First, there are vines near the winery, which is near the beautiful alabaster Abbey of Sant'Antimo, with silty clay soils, rocks and southwest exposures. The second parcel is in the Sesti area, where the soils are looser in texture and there are more rocks for water drainage.

Candied-cherry and orange aromas with a hint of cedar follow through to a medium body with tight and lightly chewy tannins and a citrusy finish. Tight at the end. Needs to open and soften. Try after 2027.

"Brilliant ruby red colour with a brighter rim. Delicate fruits on the nose, reminiscent of raspberries, followed by some violets and lactic notes. Beautiful herbal savouriness on the palate, ripe tannins, animating acidity, and a medium-long, animating finish."
