Description

Mas Alta La Creu Alta 2019 originates from a selection of old-vine Cariñena plots rooted in steep, decomposed llicorella soils—the geological signature of Priorat. Founded in 1999 by the Belgian Lambrecht and Vanhoutte families, and advised by renowned consultant Michel Tardieu, Mas Alta has been fully organic since 2009, focusing on precision, balance and terroir-driven expression.

The warm and ripe 2019 vintage delivered depth and concentration, with the wine reaching 15.5% alcohol while maintaining notable freshness (pH 3.4). Fermented destemmed with extended maceration in concrete, it matured for 18 months in new French barrels followed by 12 months in foudre. The profile is powerful and layered, showing damson, black cherry, subtle Mediterranean herbs and a mealy, grain-like nuance from the élevage. The palate is full-bodied, structured and long, with firm tannins and significant ageing potential. Production: 3,500 bottles.

Shipping Areas: Shipment to continental EU *ONLY*. NO shipping to the UK/IRL/ISL or any other island outside or within the EU. *
Tracking: A confirmation email with a tracking number is sent once your order is shipped.
Delivery Conditions: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an address where the order can be received. If delivery cannot be completed due to reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, repeated absence, etc.), reshipping costs will be charged to the customer.

Returns Policy

Return Window: In accordance with consumer regulations, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from receipt of the order, provided that the bottles are in their original, unopened packaging. To exercise this right, customers must notify us in writing via contact form, stating the order number and the products to be returned. Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer, except in the case of defective products or shipping errors.
Withdrawal Exceptions: Returns will not be accepted for opened or tampered bottles, or for personalised products.
Damaged or Incorrect Products: If you receive a damaged product or one different from the item ordered, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt, attaching photographs of the packaging and the affected product. Vin Finesse will arrange for a replacement or a refund, including any associated shipping.

UNCORK THE EXTRAORDINARY

“The old-vine cuvée from different small vineyards planted with Cariñena, the 2019 La Creu Alta fermented destemmed with a long fermentation in concrete. It matured in new barrels for 18 months followed by a further 12 months in foudre. Despite the oak treatment, the wine comes through as less oaky than in some previous vintages, with a mealy character of cereals and cookies, damsons and black cherries. It's heady and ripe, from a very warm and ripe year when the wine achieved 15.5% alcohol but still kept a pH of 3.4. It has a powerful, full-bodied palate and finishes dry and long, with some tannins that would welcome powerful food and/or more time in bottle. 3,500 bottles were filled in March 2022.”

Mas Alta, a Dutch project in Priorat, has 70 hectares of vineyards, mostly in La Vilella Alta, and they have been 100% organic since 2009. They have the help of consultant Michel Tardieu. Production averages 150,000 bottles.
