Description

Finca Capeliños 2022 comes from a century-old vineyard perched on the steep slopes of Amandi, overlooking the River Sil. This traditional field blend—dominated by Mencía (70%) with Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha, Mouratón, Negreda, and Sousón—reflects the ancestral mix of local grapes typical of the Ribeira Sacra.

Fermentation took place with 60% whole clusters in oak vats, followed by 12 to 13 months of ageing in used 225 L French oak barrels. This gentle vinification approach preserves the aromatic complexity and crystalline texture that define Pedro Rodríguez’s wines.

The nose is lifted and perfumed, with violet, wild strawberry, and graphite notes, while the palate is medium-bodied, focused, and finely structured, marked by subtle tannins and a lingering sense of freshness. More structured than the 2021 yet equally transparent and poised, this is one of the most sought-after wines from the region.

Delivery Conditions: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an address where the order can be received. If delivery cannot be completed due to reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, repeated absence, etc.), reshipping costs will be charged to the customer.

Returns Policy

Return Window: In accordance with consumer regulations, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from receipt of the order, provided that the bottles are in their original, unopened packaging. To exercise this right, customers must notify us in writing via contact form, stating the order number and the products to be returned. Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer, except in the case of defective products or shipping errors.
Withdrawal Exceptions: Returns will not be accepted for opened or tampered bottles, or for personalised products.
Damaged or Incorrect Products: If you receive a damaged product or one different from the item ordered, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt, attaching photographs of the packaging and the affected product. Vin Finesse will arrange for a replacement or a refund, including any associated shipping.

"The 2022 Finca Capeliños, from a field blend of centenary vines containing 70% Mencía and the rest Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha, Mouratón, Negreda and Sousón, is perfumed and ethereal but quite complete; there's often a violet pastille in this wine that makes it very attractive and showy. It fermented with 60% full clusters in oak vat and matured in used 225-liter French oak barrels for 12 to 13 months. It's medium-bodied, with contained ripeness and 13% alcohol, very tasty and with very fine tannins. It has more structure than the 2021 but keeps the freshness. 1,000 bottles were filled in July 2024."

Pedro Guímaro considers 2022 a very good vintage for his wines. It was a warm and dry year and some started harvesting quite early. But he waited, and there was some rain, and around September 20th he picked the grapes. The wines have lower alcohol and more freshness—the Pombeiras has a surprising 12.5% alcohol, the lowest for a very long time!
