Description

Few estates command the prestige of Egon Müller. Based at the historic Scharzhof estate in Wiltingen, the family owns 8.3 hectares within the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard, one of the greatest Riesling sites in the world. The south-facing slopes of Devonian slate, including parcels of ungrafted vines planted in the 19th century, produce wines renowned for their finesse, longevity and unique mineral expression.

Today, Egon Müller IV continues a family legacy that has defined the Saar region for generations. The estate is a member of the VDP and the only German representative of the prestigious Primum Familiae Vini association. Fermentations take place traditionally in old 1,000-litre oak Fuder casks, using indigenous yeasts whenever possible.

The 2022 Scharzhof Riesling is sourced from estate vineyards in Saarburger Rausch, Oberemmeler Rosenberg, Wiltinger Kupp and Wiltinger Braunfels. Crafted in the estate’s classic fruity style, it displays remarkable balance between residual sugar, vibrant acidity and mineral tension.

The aromatic profile is precise and expressive, revealing yellow apple, white peach, candied grapefruit, lime blossom, fresh herbs and delicate smoky notes. The palate is light to medium-bodied, with fine extract, crystalline acidity and a subtle sweetness on entry that is seamlessly integrated into a long, slate-driven finish. Still youthful, it promises significant development over the coming decades.

Shipping Time: Standard shipping takes 5-7 business days. Expedited options are available at checkout. We can provide an invoice for business buyers.
Shipping Areas: Shipment to continental EU *ONLY*. NO shipping to the UK/IRL/ISL or any other island outside or within the EU. *
Tracking: A confirmation email with a tracking number is sent once your order is shipped.
Delivery Conditions: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an address where the order can be received. If delivery cannot be completed due to reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, repeated absence, etc.), reshipping costs will be charged to the customer.

Returns Policy

Return Window: In accordance with consumer regulations, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from receipt of the order, provided that the bottles are in their original, unopened packaging. To exercise this right, customers must notify us in writing via contact form, stating the order number and the products to be returned. Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer, except in the case of defective products or shipping errors.
Withdrawal Exceptions: Returns will not be accepted for opened or tampered bottles, or for personalised products.
Damaged or Incorrect Products: If you receive a damaged product or one different from the item ordered, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt, attaching photographs of the packaging and the affected product. Vin Finesse will arrange for a replacement or a refund, including any associated shipping.
