A cult grower Champagne from Ambonnay, Egly-Ouriet is a benchmark récoltant-manipulant, renowned for its structured and expressive Grand Cru wines.

This is his emblematic cuvée, composed by 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay (Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay), is barrel-fermented and aged 4 years on lees, with a minimal 2 g/l dosage.

Powerful and gastronomic, it combines ripe fruit, confit citrus and bakery notes with precise acidity, a creamy mousse and an exceptionally long finish, offering excellent ageing potential.

Description

Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Extra Brut represents the purest and most ambitious expression of this historic Ambonnay house. The blend is based on 50% from the 2019 vintage, 30% from 2018 and 20% from 2017, reflecting consistency and multi-vintage complexity.

Vinification takes place in barrel, followed by extended ageing on the lees for approximately four years in bottle. This approach brings texture, depth and precise integration of the wine’s structural elements. The minimal dosage (2 g/l) enhances its dry, defined and gastronomic profile.

On the nose, it shows marked aromatic intensity: sourdough bread, confit lemon, ripe stone fruit such as peach and apricot, alongside fine pastry notes. The palate is broad, powerful and perfectly balanced, with vibrant acidity supporting the wine’s richness. The mousse is fine yet creamy, adding precision and tactile elegance.

The finish is exceptionally long, with lingering notes of bakery, ripe fruit and pronounced minerality. A structured Champagne with excellent ageing potential, it will gain further complexity over time and stands as a benchmark among the great wines of the region.

Tracking: A confirmation email with a tracking number is sent once your order is shipped.
Delivery Conditions: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an address where the order can be received. If delivery cannot be completed due to reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, repeated absence, etc.), reshipping costs will be charged to the customer.

Returns Policy

Return Window: In accordance with consumer regulations, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from receipt of the order, provided that the bottles are in their original, unopened packaging. To exercise this right, customers must notify us in writing via contact form, stating the order number and the products to be returned. Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer, except in the case of defective products or shipping errors.
Withdrawal Exceptions: Returns will not be accepted for opened or tampered bottles, or for personalised products.
Damaged or Incorrect Products: If you receive a damaged product or one different from the item ordered, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt, attaching photographs of the packaging and the affected product. Vin Finesse will arrange for a replacement or a refund, including any associated shipping.

"Based on the generously structured 2019 vintage defined by a concentrated and small yield, with 50% reserve wines from 2018 and 2017, Egly's latest NV Grand Cru was disgorged in October 2024 with two grams per liter dosage. As always, it was sourced mainly from Ambonnay, complemented by 20% of fruit from Bouzy, Verzenay and Verzy. Soaring from the glass with scents of pear, pastries, peach and honeysuckle mingling with orange zest, it is medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and rich, supported by tangy acidity and concluding with a long, saline finish. It is vinified entirely in wood."
