Description

Domaine William Fèvre is one of the most respected producers in Chablis, with vineyard holdings that today extend to around 76 hectares across some of the appellation’s most renowned sites, including 15 hectares classified as Grand Cru. The estate was founded in 1959 by William Fèvre, although the family’s presence in Chablis dates back more than 250 years.

The domaine’s vineyards are planted predominantly on the classic Kimmeridgian limestone soils that define the character of Chablis, giving the wines their distinctive mineral tension and saline expression. Many of the parcels used for this cuvée include old vines planted in the 1950s and 1960s, contributing depth and complexity to the final blend.

The 2022 vintage represents the penultimate year in the estate’s formal organic conversion, although the vineyards have been farmed according to organic principles for more than 15 years. Harvesting is carried out by hand in small cases, ensuring careful selection of fruit and preserving the purity of the grapes.

Vinification is designed to maintain freshness and precision. Unlike earlier periods when new oak was widely used, the wine is now aged primarily in older barrels with an average age of around five years, allowing the characteristic Chablis profile of citrus, white flowers and oyster shell minerality to remain at the forefront.

The result is a refined and balanced Chablis, medium-bodied with a satiny texture and vibrant acidity. Aromas of orchard fruit, white flowers and marine notes lead to a palate that is generous yet focused, finishing with a lingering saline freshness typical of the finest expressions of the appellation.

Tracking: A confirmation email with a tracking number is sent once your order is shipped.
Delivery Conditions: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an address where the order can be received. If delivery cannot be completed due to reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, repeated absence, etc.), reshipping costs will be charged to the customer.

Returns Policy

Return Window: In accordance with consumer regulations, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from receipt of the order, provided that the bottles are in their original, unopened packaging. To exercise this right, customers must notify us in writing via contact form, stating the order number and the products to be returned. Return shipping costs will be borne by the customer, except in the case of defective products or shipping errors.
Withdrawal Exceptions: Returns will not be accepted for opened or tampered bottles, or for personalised products.
Damaged or Incorrect Products: If you receive a damaged product or one different from the item ordered, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt, attaching photographs of the packaging and the affected product. Vin Finesse will arrange for a replacement or a refund, including any associated shipping.

“Distinct shellfish notes. Plenty of volume, a fleshy sunny character on the palate, freshened by lingering salinity to finish. Top example of AP Chablis in 2022. From 40ha of vines, with three distinct plots, including one from a lovely vineyard to the east around Viviers, with vines planted in the 1960s, but all of the vines have plenty of age.”

“To bottle in November. The average age is 40 year old vines, and 10% in wood. Excellent long finish. Sources are Chablis and Chichée for half and the rest in Viviers, 50 year old vines. Well drained steep slope which though south facing is at altitude and stays fresh. A fresh lemon yellow. The nose is a little more subdued than the Petit Chablis but more classical. This too has the attractive saline bitterness of extreme youth, but the fruit builds beautifully on the palate.”

Beyond the quality of the wines themselves, the big news at this address, which has been managed with sagacity and competence by Didier Séguier since 1999, is its acquisition by Domaines des Barons de Rothschild (Lafite).
